Snapshots of Human Interiors

The Matthias Rische Collection

Social outcasts, the marginalized, the struggling, the ones who fall through the cracks or don’t quite get it, the old and the broken, men and women facing death, defeat, sorrow …

These are the subjects of Matthias Rische’s literary snapshots of life un-romanticized, un-idealized, maybe even unwanted, fr then when do the most of us have a choice?

Hula Ink is proud to present a selection of his short prose pieces translated into English and spoken as video books.

Meet Matthias

Writer and Literary Event Manager

German writer and literary events manager in Berlin Matthis Rische spent a great part of his life wandering, meeting and talking to people and getting to know intimately the underbelly of German society.

In his novel “Jakob” he portrayed an abused immigrant child. On his Berlin literary stages EselsOhren and Für_Wort he brings writers, poets, singers and other artists on stage in Berlin (and before the camera on Zoom and Facebook) to tell and read and talk.
